I use the application "Grocery Gadget" and there may be other apps out there that do the same thing. I include the cost of the item on my list. Not only does it keep a running tally, and therefore I can keep within my budget easier, but it saves me shopping time as well. It's quite a game for me to prepare my list and keep it within my budget. I like to keep the "cost" of my grocery trips to below a certain amount, and this app lets me spread out my purchases so that I am spending more evenly, and often less.
