#1 Yes, I've also flown with ryanair and it's very cheap if you book beforehand. Maybe the litlle issue is that ryanair uses secondary or tertiary airports.

For example when I flight from Barcelona to Paris it landed in Beauvais airport (www.moneytrackin.com/map#latitude/49.0306652257167/longitude/2.44995118) that it's 100km at the north of Paris.
